All Other Faculty

All other Faculty ranks will require separate review and approval from their corresponding Research Ethics Board (REB).

Students, Post Doctoral Fellows, Residents

Undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and residents are not automatically eligible for Principal Investigator (PI) status within the RISe system. 

Please have your research ethics application designate a UBC faculty member or an approved affiliated faculty supervisor as the PI.

Requesting an Exception
 

Exceptions to the standard PI eligibility may be considered on a case-by-case basis only by the appropriate Research Ethics Board (REB). Our RISe team cannot authorize these without approval from the corresponding REB. Please check below for your respective REB, and contact them accordingly for any exceptions.
