PI status & additional access 

Understanding RISe Roles and Access

All researcher accounts created in RISe are initially assigned the "PI & Staff" role. This is a default researcher designation and does not automatically provide access to Principal Investigator (PI) level access.
 

What Access Is Included? 

PI & Staff role allows users to:PI & Staff does NOT include access to:
  • Log in to the RISe platform
     
  • View and edit applications they are listed on
  • The “Studies” Tab / Ethics applications they are not listed on
     
  • Departmental or Faculty grant information
     
  • Principle Investigator (PI) level permissions


Requesting Additional Access

Access to additional functionality—such as PI designation or departmental grant visibility—requires review and approval by the appropriate administrative office or ethics board.

PI Status

Principle Investigator (PI) status in RISe is a privileged role only granted to those demonstrating their academic standing and ability to independently lead research.
