RISe serves as the the central research platform for UBC research ethics, managing both single-jurisdictional and multi-jurisdictional harmonized ethics applications. This integration allows for the streamlining of the ethics review process for consistency and efficiency between UBC and all other BC PREP Institutions.

UBC Research Ethics oversight is conducted by independent boards at both UBC Vancouver and UBC Okanagan. Within this framework, UBC Vancouver maintains separate REB boards for Clinical and Behavioral reviews.
