Research Information Systems (RISe)
RISe is an online research administration platform that allows researchers and administrators to manage and track applications online through to the approval, certification and awarding of funds.
Our RISe team provides system support to all our UBC and Non-UBC Researchers and Institutions. Our assistance includes access to RISe, troubleshooting functionality and errors, and connecting you with our valued partner institutions when required.
The UBC RISe system has expanded over the years to support more than seven modules, and is currently the primary research platform for more than 14,000 active studies. On average, over 3500 studies are submitted annually through the RISe system, of which around 500 are harmonized studies.
In addition to supporting UBC and affiliated Hospitals (BC Cancer, Children's and Women's Hospital, Providence Health Care), RISe also supports all BC Health authorities, and most BC universities and colleges under the harmonized PREP system for Research Ethics BC (REBC).
As the research platform for Research Ethics BC (REBC), RISe supports a province-wide, harmonized system for research ethics reviews of studies conducted in multiple geographic areas. These studies involve the resources, people, patients or data from more than one BC research institution.
With the recent integration to our UBC Workday system, the RISe team remains committed to providing a secure, reliable, and accessible system to our UBC and Non-UBC Researchers. We look forward to continue to developing our RISe system and collaborating with our all researchers and institutions.
